12g Round Action by John Dickson & Son - 29 x 2 1/2" sleeved barrels
This John Dickson round action was built in 1903 and has patent use number 1071. It’s engraved with fine rose and scroll and “John Dickson & Son Patent” is engraved within a scrolling banner on the action body. It has 29″ sleeved barrels with 2 1/2″ chambers. With the wall thicknesses north of 30 thou, it will comfortably fire standard steel without alternation. The gun is in very clean condition, I’ve probably overhauled it two or three times, the previous owner really looked after his guns. I don’t know if you can see from the pictures, but the gun is fitted with a finer and more delicate top lever. I’ve had quite a few of these over the years, all built around the mid 5,500 serial numbers. The original woodwork of the 14 1/8″ straight hand stock is beautifully figured. The opens and closes, like a Dickson should.
