12g Round Action by John Dickson & Son - 29 x 2 1/2" barrels
This round action was built in 1888 and is the 240th round action built. The gun is No. 2 of a pair and has 29″ Damascus barrels, with 2 1/2″ chambers and an engine turned top rib. The only engraving on the gun, other than the screw heads, reads John Dickson & Son patent. As I’m sure you’re aware Dicksons only made one quality of round action which was best. The gun was nitro proofed some time ago and the gun is totally original. It’s fitted with the single pinned ejector system and the unusual thing is it still has its three piece extractor system which works beautifully. The action is fitted with cocking indicators, the woodwork on the 15″ one piece stock hasn’t ever been re-chequered and is very slightly swept at the comb. The majority of these three piece extractor guns have been converted, it’s only the second one I have had with the original system.
