12g sidelock ejector by J Woodward & Sons - 29" x 2 1/2" chopperlump barrels
This Woodward is in beautiful condition and is likely to have been built in the early 1890s. It is No 2 of a pair with replacement chopperlump barrels by “Purdey”, proved in London with 2 1/2″ chambers. Engraving style on the action and locks is Woodward’s fine scroll and the action has chiselled arcaded fences with side clips. The locks have raised tumbler pivots, although the gold cocking indicator is missing from the right lock. Opening system is a push-forward lever which fits into a double rolled edge guard with an articulated front trigger. Retaining an original “Prince of Wales” stock and fore-end, this is a fabulous London-built sidelock ejector for less than £5,000.
