SOLD - 16g hammergun by J Blanch & Son - 30" x 2 1/2" barrels
This is quite an unusual gun. A 16g, best quality, fully engraved, bar-locked hammergun by J Blanch & Son, with 30″ x 2 1/2″ Damascus barrels. The top rib reads “J Blanch & Son, 29 Gracechurch Street, London”. Engraving style on the action and locks is fine rose and scroll, and both hammers have facetted noses and are in beautiful condition without repair. Opening mechanism is the Purdey gun hole system, and the fore-end has Blanch’s lever system, which is engraved “J Blanch & Sons, Improved snap bolt”. Retaining original woodwork, this gun unusually houses the gold escutcheon plate on the stock’s heel. This will make a super gun to shoot. I don’t see many 30″ barrelled, 16 bores, especially with walls of around 30 thou.
