Pair of 12g Over & Unders by David McKay Brown - 30" x 2 3/4" barrels
These David McKay Browns were built 3 years apart despite the fact that they are consecutively numbered. The second number had been reserved. They’re about 10 years old and have fired less than 1,000 shots each. The guns were built for a chap who worked closely with McKay Brown, although bizarrely didn’t shoot. They have 30″ x 2 3/4″ barrels with solid tapering cross-filed ribs and the barrels are fitted with side fins. The action body and locks are engraved with bold acanthus scroll and strap work over a matte background. The no.1 gun has a Labrador engraved on the underside of the action, the no.2 a pointing dog. They have highly figured 15″ pistol grip stocks and hold open top levers. They come in their double motor case and there is also a single case with all the named accessories. With a slight modification to the chokes, these guns will fire standard steel cartridges. A superb and beautifully balanced pair of guns.
