Pair of 12g Round Actions by John Dickson & Son 27" x 2 1/2" chopper lump barrels
This pair of John Dickson & Son round actions was built in 1905. Chopper lump barrels measuring 27″ x 2 1/2″ were made by the makers in 1937 replacing the original 29″ ones. A glance at Dickson’s records show that in the 30s the preferred barrel length was 27″. The No 2 gun has a replacement 14 3/8” stock. The No 1 gun has had the crown of its original 14 3/8″ stock expertly repaired. Engraving style is fine rose and scroll and the guns have fully selective single triggers. Presented in their oak and leather case, these guns open, close, fire, eject and select beautifully and the escutcheon plates are engraved with the Scottish Pollock family crest and motto. Please note the photographs are prior to overhauling. Dickson single triggers are pretty scarce but the fully selective version is even more rare.
