SOLD - 12g, A&D ejector by Charles Boswell - 30" x 2 1/2" barrels
SOLD – This Damascus barrelled Boswell, A&D ejector is one of the most beautiful and well-made boxlocks I’ve seen. In fact, I would say it’s in my top 3. Its 30″ Damascus barrels have some faded, original barrel brown and the top rib reads, “Charles Boswell, maker, 126 Strand, London WC”. Engraving on the scroll-backed action is rose and scroll with floral borders and chiselled vine leaves over a stippled background. The action has side clips with a third locking grip on the dolls’ head extension and it has a Westley Richards’ style top lever, Southgate ejectors, intercepting sears and a rocker safe. Panels and drop points are present on the 14 3/4″ once-piece, highly figured stock and a bloom of colour hardening appears over the action and trigger plate. This gun is presented in its original, brass-bound, leather gun case with trade label. It’s simply magnificent.
