12g Round Action by John Dickson & Son - 27 x 2 1/2" chopper lump barrels
This Dickson round action is one of the later Edinburgh built guns. Completed in 1950 it has patent use number 1895. The last recorded patent use number is “1910” although I’m sure a few will have slipped through the net as the records weren’t as comprehensively noted latterly as in previous years.. The gun has 27 x 2 1/2″ chambers, a well figured 14 5/8” stock and only weighs 5lbs 14oz. Originally it was proofed as a 2″ gun, but has been altered and proofed to 2 1/2″. The action, body & lock are engraved with fine rose and scroll, with the words “Dickson patent” inlaid in gold in front of the bow of the guard. The lock is gilded and fitted with intercepting sears and the action & lock retain a small amount of original hardening colour. This will make a fast handling gun and will be like carrying a 20 bore on a walked day. A super lightweight gun for somebody.
