12g round action by John Dickson & Son - 29" x 2 1/2" chopperlump barrels
This round action was built in 1910 as a No. 3 gun to match guns numbered 5713/4, and the “63 Princes Street” address is engraved on the 29″ x 2 1/2″ chopperlump barrels. Walls measure 25 and 23 thou, and although there are a couple of small marks in both tubes left from dent repairs, they are nothing to worry about. The action is Sumner engraved and is a slight variation from Dickson’s standard rose and scroll pattern, and the mechanism is gilded. Dickson’s replaced the stock at some point in the 90s and it measures 15 1/4″, including an inch of buffalo horn. A recent overhaul has been carried out with the furniture polished and blacked and the gun is presented in a leather case with Dickson trade label, snap caps and an oil bottle.
