12g sidelock ejector by John Dickson & Son - 29" x 2 3/4" barrels
This lovely Dickson sidelock was built in 1920. Steel barrels measure 29″ x 2 ¾” and were re-proved in 2012. Marked No 2 of a pair, this appears in gold on the barrel breech, top lever, and fore-end tip. Engraving style on the action and locks, which I’m pretty sure is the work of Jack Sumner, is very fine rose and scroll, with “John Dickson & Son, Edinburgh” on the underside of the action body. The stock is highly figured, measuring 14 ⅞” which includes a ¾” buffalo horn extension. Presented in a smart leather motor case with an outer canvas cover.
