16g A&D ejector by Mortimer & Son - 27 x 2 1/2" barrels
This Mortimer 16g was built circa 1920. It has 27″ x 2 1/2″ steel barrels with a raised, cross-filed, quick sighting, Churchill rib. The barrel tubes read ” Mortimer & Son, 86 George Street, Edinburgh”. It’s fitted with a full spindle lever system, a rocker safe and an Anson fore-end with Southgate ejectors. It’s recently had a full overhaul and the gun retains traces of hardening colour. It has its original barrel black and the woodwork of the 14 3/8″ stock is in good un-restored condition, with panels and drop points. The action is border engraved with two panels of game scene, a pigeon in landscape on the right-hand side and a pheasant in landscape on the left. A clean honest little gun.
|CONDITION:||Perfect barrel condition. Traces of original colour hardening.|
