20g A & D ejector by Robert Lisle, 28 x 2 1/2"
This 20g was built circa 1910, and has 28 x 2 1/2″ steel barrels, with the name ‘Robert Lisle, 25 Derwent Street, Derby’ in-laid in gold on the barrel tubes. There is a third locking grip and the gun is fitted with Southgate ejectors, a full spindle lever system and a rocker safe. The name ‘Robert Lisle’ is also in-laid in gold on the action body which is engraved with bold acanthus and panels of game scene. Lisle’s famous trademark, the tiger, is engraved on the bow of the guard and panels of acanthus are engraved on the breech end of the barrels. The replacement one-piece, 15” stock has vacant rose gold escutcheon plate. It is worth pointing out that it is quite unusual to find a 20g with a 15″ one-piece stock. A full mechanical overhaul has been carried out.
