20g A&D ejector by J Wilkes – 28″ x 2 1/2″ steel barrels

This John Wilkes 20-bore shotgun is fitted with 28″ x 2½” steel barrels, which remain in excellent condition with 30-thou wall thicknesses.  Engraving on the top rib reads “John Wilkes, 21 Broad Street, Golden Square, London W”, and the action, cover plate, and trigger guard are beautifully engraved with rose and scroll.  Retaining approximately 40% of its original case-hardening colour, the gun has a full spindle lever system, rocker safe, Anson fore-end and Southgate ejectors, a high quality boxlock.  Stocked with a well-figured 15″ straight-hand stock with panels and drop points, including a Silver’s recoil pad.  Presented in a canvas and leather case with a Whistler of London trade label.  With the left choke reduced this gun will fire standard steel cartridges.
