Wilkes stocked .270 Wby Mag bolt action rifle by Weatherby

A classic early Southgate Weatherby in outstanding condition firing the originator’s first and arguably most useful cartridge.  Built c1954 on the FN Commercial Contract Mauser 98 Action (sporting pattern, without thumb cutout).  Restocked by Wilkes c 1960 to best London standards in excellent walnut with horn fore-end tip and pistol grip cap.  Custerson fitted Schmidt and Bender 10 x 42 telescope sight on Apel swing off mounts.   Original and excellent Jaeger trigger, Recknagel 3 position (“Winchester”) safe (Custerson fitted).  Kershaw fitted moderator with thread protector and complete baffle set: components and rifle proofed / reproved and stamped by Birmingham Proof House. Set Redding .270 Wby Reloading Dies with 18 x empty cases.  80 rounds Norma, Federal and Weatherby factory ammunition included for purchaser’s collection.  Unfitted Zeiss 4×32 telescope sight with Apel feet included.  Silver’s Pad fitted for £300.
