12g hammergun by Alex Henry - 29 3/4" x 2 1/2" Damascus barrels
This is a beautiful Henry hammergun with 29 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ Damascus barrels, which are black powder proved. Converted, I suspect, from a muzzle loader, the Damascus pattern is beautiful, and the top rib reads “A. Henry, Edinburgh”. Retaining a small amount of colour, the action and locks are engraved with bold scroll work, a setter engraved on the right lock and a pointing dog on the left. The locks are rebounding, and it has a Jones’ underlever locking system and a bolted fore-end. The 13 3/4″ stock has heel and toe plates. It’s a fabulous old gun which shoulders beautifully.
