.410 single barrel by J. R. Gow & Sons - 24 3/4" x 3" barrel
This beautiful little gun by J R Gow of Dundee started off life as a 297/250 rifle. Now bored and re-chambered to .410 with a 3″ chamber, it has an octagonal barrel, and the top facet is engine turned with a panel reading “J R Gow & Sons, makers, Dundee”. Engraving style on the action and fore-end is acanthus scroll, and the gun is side lever opening with a centre hammer. Ejecting whenever it is opened, means this is a semi-ejector. It has a 14 3/8″ pistol-grip stock, with a strengthening bolt through the crown, it opens and closes beautifully, and weighs 4lbs 7oz. Once again, most unusually, there is no damage to the edges of the fore-end wood. This is a super wee gun.
