Pair of 12g sidelock ejectors by Charles Hellis & Sons - barrels 26" x 2 1/2"
Built circa 1935, this matched pair of guns has 26″ x 2 1/2″ steel barrels choked 1/4 and full. Numbers “1” and “2” are inlaid in gold on the fore-end tips, top levers, and barrel breech ends. Engraving style on the actions and locks is bold acanthus, framed by beaded borders, and the guns retain traces of their original colour hardening. Both guns have rolled-edge trigger guards. The stocks differ slightly, with one including a wooden extension whilst the other has a Silver’s pad. The No. 1 gun is fitted with three escutcheon plates, the No. 2 gun has two, however, these could be easily matched. Presented in their original double motor case, these guns have remained in the same family since new.
