Pair 12g round actions by John Dickson & Son - 28" x 2 1/2" chopperlump barrels
This pair of round actions was built in the mid 1920s. Chopperlump barrels measure 28 x 2 1/2″ with the top rib engraved, “John Dickson & Son, 63 Princes Street, Edinburgh”. Gold numbers 1 & 2 are inlaid in the barrel breech ends, top levers and fore-end tips along with the previous owner’s initials “L .V. T.” Replacement stocks measure 14 1/2″, are well-figured with a diamond grip. Engraving style on the actions is fine rose and scroll and the guns retain a small amount of original hardening colour, and the locks are gilded. Opening and closing beautifully, the guns are presented in their original velvet case with canvas and leather outer. Although the No. 2 gun is below 20 thou, it is still perfectly safe to shoot.
