12g sidelock ejector by Holland & Holland – 28″ x 2″ barrels

Now here’s a nice thing.  This is a Holland & Holland Dominion with 2″ chambers, built circa 1937.  Chopperlump barrels, which illustrate the quality of the gun, measure 28″ and are choked Imp cyl and 1/4.  Engraving style on the action and locks is rose and scroll, and the gun retains traces of original hardening colour.  It has a well-figured, 14 3/4″ stock, including about 1″ of bakelite.  I’ve known this gun for about 40 years and it’s never let the previous owner down.  A full mechanical overhaul, including having the furniture blacked, safe re-chequered and blued, barrels polished and blacked, has just been carried out.  What a super little gun and it only weighs 5lbs 9oz.
