12g A&DE by Frederick Beesley of London - 28" x 2 1/2" barrels
This beautiful London boxlock was built circa 1907 and is No 1 of a pair. Replacement barrels were made by the makers in 1973, and the barrel tubes read, “F Beesley, 7 Bury Street, St James’s, London, England”. The action body is signed “F Beesley, London” within a scrolling banner and the action, cover plate, guard etc. are engraved with bold foliate scroll work. The 15″ straight-hand stock has panels and drop points and a 1″ Bakelite extension piece. Some original hardening colour remains on the gun, and it has a full spindle lever system, a rocker safe, Southgate ejectors and intercepting sears. Presented in a leather case with Beesley trade label. With the chokes reduced, this gun will be capable of firing standard steel cartridges.
